BAGHDAD, May 1 (Reuters) - Gunmen attacked a minibus south of Baghdad late on Monday, killing 11 passengers including women and children, Iraqi police said on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Captain Muthana al-Maamouri said several other people were seriously wounded in the attack in the town of Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad.

Insurgents have increasingly focused their attacks outside the capital since the start of a security crackdown in Baghdad in mid-February.
