Jan 22 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 1915 GMT on Monday:

* TIKRIT - One U.S. soldier was killed and four were wounded by a roadside bomb in Nineva province on Monday, the U.S. military said.

* BAGHDAD - Gunmen killed police Major Amer Fadhil in a drive-by shooting near Shaab stadium in western Baghdad, police said.

* BAGHDAD - Police found 29 tortured and bullet-riddled bodies in various districts of Baghdad in the past 24 hours, an Interior Ministry source said.

* BAGHDAD - One civilian was killed and another wounded when a mortar round landed on a house in Amil district in southwestern Baghdad, police said.

* BAQUBA - At least 14 people were killed and 40 wounded when a bomb exploded in a market near Baquba, northeast of Baghdad, police sources said.

BAQUBA - Gunmen kidnapped Khaled al-Sanjari, a local government official in Baquba, while he was on his way to work and set the office on fire, police said. Baquba lies 65 km (40 miles) northeast of Baghdad.

* BAGHDAD - At least 88 people were killed and 170 wounded when two car bombs exploded simultaneously at a second-hand goods market in Bab al-Sharji, a busy commercial area in central Baghdad, police said.

TAL AFAR - A roadside bomb aimed at a police patrol killed three policemen and wounded nine people, including two policemen, in the northern town of Tal Afar, 420 km (260 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - A car bomb targeting an Iraqi army patrol killed a woman and wounded four people, including two soldiers, on Sunday in the northern city of Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. Two more soldiers were killed when troops went to the scene to recover the casualties.

MOSUL - The bodies of eight people were found on Sunday in different districts of Mosul, police said. All had been shot.

MAHAWEEL - Police recovered the body of a man, bound and shot, from an irrigation canal on Sunday in the town of Mahaweel, 75 km (50 miles) south of Baghdad.
