Abbas to meet Hamas chief in Saudi Arabia -official

RAMALLAH, West Bank, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah and Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal plan to meet next week in the holy Muslim city of Mecca at the invitation of the Saudi King, a senior Palestinian official said.

"There is an agreement between the president and Khaled Meshaal to meet in Mecca, probably on Tuesday," said Jamal al-Shobaki, Palestinian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, told Reuters.
