MOSCOW, Dec 2 (Reuters) - A blast at a factory owned by Russia's VSMPO-Avisma <VSMO.MM>, the world's largest titanium producer, killed one person and injured five on Sunday, Interfax news agency reported.

The explosion at the Verkhnyaya Salda plant in the Urals was caused by a gas compressor, the news agency said, citing local emergency ministry officials.

The company, owned 66 percent by Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, is a major supplier of titanium products to Boeing <BA.N> and Airbus <EAD.PA>. (Reporting by Guy Faulconbridge, editing by Matthew Tostevin)
