GAZA, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Israeli bulldozers attempted to pull down parts of a mosque in the Gaza Strip early on Friday in an attempt to remove gunmen holed up there, Palestinian witnesses said.

Witnesses said around 60 militants were inside the mosque in the centre of the town of Beit Hanoun.

They added that troops fired stun grenades towards the centre of the mosque attempting to force them to surrender.

The Israeli military said it was checking the report.
