H5N1 bird flu confirmed in Britain - EU

BRUSSELS, Feb 3 (Reuters) - The European Commission on Saturday confirmed that an outbreak of bird flu on a farm in eastern England was the H5N1 strain.

The Commission was informed by British authorities of the suspected outbreak of avian influenza on Friday, the EU executive said in a statement.
