(writes through story with hospital comment that four Hamas men wounded not dead)

GAZA, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Four members of a Hamas-led police force who were apparently targeted in an Israeli air strike in the Gaza town of Rafah on Friday were wounded not killed as reported earlier, Palestinian hospital officials said.

A Hamas source had said the four had been killed. They were in a jeep at the time of the strike, the source said.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army which has been engaged in an offensive against militants in the Gaza Strip, launched after gunmen from the territory abducted an Israeli soldier inside the Jewish state in June.
