MOSCOW, March 3 (Reuters) - Russian riot police on Monday detained at least a dozen opposition protesters who tried to gather for an unauthorised rally in Moscow against the presidential election, Reuters reporters said.

More than 300 riot police armed with batons swooped on small groups of protesters as soon as they appeared on the streets before the rally, the reporters said. (Reporting by Chris Baldwin and Maria Golovnina; writing by Guy Faulconbridge; Editing by Jon Boyle)
