JERUSALEM, Dec 4 (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush will visit Israel and the Palestinian Authority in the middle of January, Israeli media reported on Tuesday. The trip will be Bush's first to the region as president. A spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he could not officially confirm Bush's visit. The White House had no immediate comment. Palestinian officials could not say when the trip was planned to take place, although they said he was planning to visit the region. If it goes ahead in January, the visit will come weeks after the Annapolis peace conference which Bush hailed as a success as he oversaw Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas agree to launch full peace negotiations after a seven-year stalemate.
