FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, Nov 6

Nov 6 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1500 GMT on Tuesday.

* denotes new or updated items.

* BAIJI - Five U.S. soldiers were killed in two separate roadside bomb attacks on Monday near the oil-refining city of Baiji, 180 km (110 miles) north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said. Four of them died when a bomb exploded near their vehicle.

* ANBAR - One U.S. soldier was killed during combat operations in western Anbar province on Monday, the U.S. military said.

NEAR MOSUL - Gunmen killed six off-duty policemen on a road near Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, said Police Brigadier-General Ibrahim al-Jouburi. He said the militants also burned the bodies.

NEAR LATIFIYA - Police said they found two bodies tortured and shot near the town of Latifiya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad.

MOSUL - Gunmen killed Arif Yousif, a member of the governing council of Mosul, and wounded his bodyguard in a drive-by shooting, police said.

LAKE THAR THAR - Thirty decomposed bodies were found in two mass graves by Iraqi soldiers on Saturday in the Lake Thar Thar region, 80 km (50 miles) northwest of Baghdad, the Iraqi military said. The U.S. military said 22 bodies were found.

DHULUIYA - Police found the decapitated bodies of two policemen buried in the town of Dhuluiya, 70 km (45 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

TIKRIT - Two men were shot dead in the city of Samarra, 100 km (60 miles) north of Baghdad, a hospital source said.

HAWIJA - Three civilians were wounded by a roadside bomb which exploded near a police patrol in the town of Hawija, 70 km (45 miles) southwest of Kirkuk, police said.
