BAGHDAD, May 6 (Reuters) - A car bomb killed seven people and wounded 15 others near a crowded market in Baghdad on Sunday, Iraqi police said.

They said the attack took place in the Shi'ite neighbourhood of Bayaa.

U.S. and Iraqi forces launched a major security crackdown in Baghdad nearly three months ago. The offensive has reduced sectarian death squad killings but car bombs blamed mainly on Sunni Islamist al Qaeda still plague the city.
