Radiation traces found in UK embassy in Moscow

LONDON, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Britain said on Wednesday that traces of radiation had been found in its embassy in Moscow but there was no threat to public health and diplomats were working as normal.

A British team probing the death in London by radiation poisoning of former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko discovered the traces in a search of the building, the Foreign Office said.

A foreign office spokeswoman declined to say what had caused the radiation or where the contamination had been found.

Litvinenko, a fierce critic of President Vladimir Putin, died on Nov. 23 from radiation poisoning caused by polonium 210.
