April 8 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1610 GMT on Tuesday.

* BAGHDAD - 13 people died and 140 were wounded in fighting in Sadr City, eastern Baghdad, on Tuesday, hospital officials said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. military fired four Hellfire missiles at gunmen and mortar crews in Sadr City in three separate air strikes on Tuesday, killing an estimated 12 gunmen, Lieutenant-Colonel Steven Stover said.

BALAD RUZ - 7 civilian were killed and 10 were wounded when al Qaeda in Iraq members targeted an Iraqi police bus with an IED in Balad Ruz, 65 km (42 miles) northeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

NINEVEH PROVINCE - A roadside bomb killed one person and wounded two others in western Nineveh province, police said.

HADHAR - Gunmen attacked the house of al-Hadhar local mayor, killing his wife on Monday in al-Hadhar, 280 km (175 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - One U.S. soldier was killed late on Monday from wounds sustained when a roadside bomb struck his vehicle in Baghdad, the U.S. military said. The death takes the U.S. toll for Monday to four after seven were killed on Sunday.

BASRA - Iraqi security forces, backed by U.S. forces, recovered a weapons cache and killed 10 militants in separate operations on Thursday and Friday in Basra, 550 km (340 miles) southeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded three policemen, two traffic policemen and four civilians on Tuesday in the Zayouna district, in eastern Baghdad, police said.

TUZ KHURMATO - A roadside bomb wounded 16 people in a commercial area in Tuz Khurmato, 180 km (110 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
