FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, March 9

March 9 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1330 GMT on Sunday.

* MAHMUDIYA - A child was wounded when a mortar bomb landed near a school in Mahmudiya, 30 km (20 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

NEAR HADITHA - Four people died when a roadside bomb exploded near the car they were travelling in, police said. The incident took place between Haditha and Baiji north of Baghdad.

TIKRIT - A roadside bomb blew up near a police patrol in central Tikrit, 175 km (110 miles) north of Baghdad, killing a lieutenant and wounding three policemen, police said.

ISKANDARIYA - Gunmen stormed the house of a neighbourhood supervisor in Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, killing him and his son on Saturday, police said. Police later killed four suspects in the incident.

MUSSAYAB - A boy was killed when he picked up a roadside bomb in Mussayab 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, on Saturday, police said.

MOSUL - Two people were killed and five others wounded when a car bomb exploded in central Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

DIYALA PROVINCE - Iraqi soldiers found a depot containing 29 aircraft engines and 90 jerry cans filled with explosives in Diyala province, north of Baghdad, Defence Ministry spokesman Mohammed al-Askari said. He did not say where in Diyala the discovery was made.
