GAZA, April 9 (Reuters) - Israeli troops killed one Hamas militant and wounded another during a raid into the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip on Wednesday, Palestinian medical staff and militants said. An Israeli army spokeswoman said two soldiers received light wounds. Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants said they fired rocket-propelled grenades and mortar bombs at the troops, who were backed by helicopters. Israel frequently mounts raids into the Gaza Strip in an attempt to stop militants from firing rockets at southern Israeli towns. The Islamist Hamas movement seized control of the coastal territory last June when it routed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's forces.
