(Adds Fatah claim)

JENIN, West Bank, July 9 (Reuters) - Israeli commandos killed a Palestinian militant in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, a military spokesman said.

He said troops shot the Hamas member dead during an arrest raid near the Palestinian-ruled city of Jenin. He was killed while trying to flee, the spokesman said.

An armed wing of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction said the dead militant was one of their own.

Palestinian officials said the Israeli raid took place in Kufur Dan, a village outside Jenin, and that the militant was shot while in a car.

Another Palestinian, who was driving, was taken into Israeli custody, they said, adding that the commandos were disguised as Arabs.

The truce, which began on June 19, applies to Gaza only but some militants there have retaliated for previous Israeli attacks in the West Bank. (Reporting by Wael al-Ahmad; Writing by Dan Williams, Editing by Stephen Weeks)
