GAZA, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Unidentified gunmen shot at a convoy of vehicles transporting the Palestinian interior minister in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, but he escaped unharmed, a spokesman said. The gunfire was another sign of unrest at a time of growing tension between the governing Hamas Islamist group and President Mahmoud Abbas, a moderate. Witnesses said people dived for cover and police gave chase as the gunmen sped away. "The convoy was targeted by a shooting," said Khaled Abu Hilal, a spokesman for Interior Minister Saeed Seyam. The violence came a day after two Palestinian guards were wounded in an exchange of fire during a protest at the parliament building in Gaza.
