(Adds details) N'DJAMENA, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Gunmen freed a foreign aid worker in Chad on Tuesday, United Nations officials said, a month after he and a colleague in aid group Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) group were seized in a robbery. "It is confirmed. He was freed today," a U.N. official told Reuters in Chad, without giving any further details. MSF was not immediately available for comment. Another U.N. official, who also asked not to be named, confirmed the release, saying that the aid worker was back in the town of Ade, in eastern Chad, where he was kidnapped by gunmen during an Aug. 4 robbery on the MSF compound. Aid workers are working in eastern Chad and neighbouring Sudan's Darfur region to help hundreds of thousands of civilians caught up in several intertwined rebellions against the countries' central governments. Despite international peacekeepers on both sides of the border, aid workers frequently complain about insecurity in the area.
