NABLUS, West Bank, Dec 14 (Reuters) - Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians in separate incidents in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, Palestinian security sources and hospital officials said.

Soldiers dressed in plain clothes jumped out of an unmarked car and shot dead a wanted militant in a refugee camp in Nablus, residents said.

The residents identified the man as Mohammed Rammah, a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, an armed wing of President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement.

Four other Palestinians were wounded during the raid, including a 12-year-old girl, hospital officials said.

Israeli security sources said Rammah was the head of al-Aqsa in the refugee camp and had planned suicide bombings in Israel, including an attack thwarted yesterday when soldiers found an explosive at a border crossing in the West Bank.

The army said Rammah's vehicle had evaded a barrier and crashed into a car driving in the opposite direction.

"Soldiers identified Rammah and his assistant as armed and opened fire," an army spokesman said.

In an earlier incident, a 29-year-old Palestinian man was shot dead after soldiers clashed with stone throwers in the village of Kafr al-Deek, near Ramallah. It was not immediately clear if he was taking part in the confrontation.

An Israeli military spokesman said there had been violent disturbances in the area.

"Our troops searched the area and spotted a Palestinian who was about to throw a breeze-block at them from an elevated position. As they felt their lives were in danger, the soldiers opened fire, hitting the Palestinian," the spokesman said.

Israel has pressed its raids against suspected militants and patrols in the West Bank despite a truce declared last month in the Gaza Strip, another territory where Palestinians want statehood. (Additional reporting by Atef Sa'ad in Nablus)
