BUJUMBURA, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Burundi's former president and four others were acquitted on Monday of charges they plotted to assassinate President Pierre Nkurunziza and overthrow his government, a court ruled.

But the ruling by Burundi's high court said two remaining defendants would have to serve 15 and 20 years in prison respectively. Defence lawyers confirmed the court's ruling.
