Qaeda leader in Iraq wounded - Arabiya television

DUBAI, Feb 16 (Reuters) - The leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Ayyub al-Masri, has been wounded in a clash north of Baghdad, Al Arabiya television on Friday quoted the Iraqi Interior Ministry as saying.

It said an aide of Masri was killed in the incident, without giving further details. Masri is also known as Abu Hamza al-Muhajir.

A U.S. military spokesman in Baghdad said he had no information on the report.
