Jan 16 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 2030 GMT on Tuesday:

*BAGHDAD - A car bomb and a suicide bomber killed 70 people and wounded 180, including many female students blown up at the entrance to Mustansiriya University in Baghdad as they waited for cars to take them home, police said.

BAGHDAD - Ten people were killed in a drive-by shooting in Binoog, a mixed neighbourhood in central Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - Four U.S. soldiers were killed by a bomb in Nineveh province in northern Iraq on Monday, the military said.

DIWANIYA - Two bodies were found in different parts of the central Shi'ite city of Diwaniya, police said. Both had their hands bound and they had been shot.

KIRKUK - A police colonel survived a roadside bomb that exploded near his car, killing one civilian and wounding four, including two policemen, in Kirkuk, police said.

HAWIJA - Gunmen shot dead one person in the town of Hawija, 60 km (40 miles) southwest of the northern oil city of Kirkuk, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb followed by a second blast from a motorcycle rigged with explosives killed 15 people and wounded 70 near a Sunni mosque in central Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said.

BAGHDAD - Iraqi army soldiers arrested six suspected insurgents and discovered three car bombs, four bombs and a number of weapons in the Suleikh district of northern Baghdad, the Iraqi Defence Ministry said.

BAGHDAD - A bomb inside a car killed six people and wounded 11 in Sadr City, a Shi'ite district in eastern Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb targeting a police patrol killed two policemen and two civilians and wounded 10, including three policemen, in Karrada in central Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - A total of nine bodies, including a policewoman, were found shot dead on Monday in different districts of the northern city of Mosul, police said.

BAGHDAD - A sniper killed a guard of al-Sabah, a state run newspaper, in northern Baghdad, police said.

JIBILA - Gunmen entered a bus terminal and killed a driver on Monday in the town of Jibila, about 50 km (35 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - Gunmen killed three people in a drive-by shooting in Mosul, police said.
