GAZA, May 16 (Reuters) - An official in the Palestinian government sympathetic to Hamas said unknown gunmen had fired on guards protecting the residence of Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh late on Wednesday. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said it was unclear if there had been any injuries in the shooting, which came nearly four hours after Haniyeh's Hamas militant group and forces loyal to the secular Fatah faction declared their latest ceasefire.
