Hamas accuses Abbas of launching coup

GAZA, Dec 16 (Reuters) - The governing Hamas faction accused Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of launching a coup against its government on Saturday after he called for early elections.

"This is a real coup against the democratically elected government," senior Hamas lawmaker Mushir al-Masri said.
