GAZA, Jan 17 (Reuters) - An Israeli air strike on a car in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday killed two Palestinians, Hamas security officials said.

The latest bloodshed in a surge of violence this week coincided with rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip against towns in southern Israel.

An Israeli military spokesman in Tel Aviv said he had no immediate information on an air strike. (Reporting by Nidal al-Mughrabi, Writing by Jeffrey Heller in Jerusalem)
