CONAKRY, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Guinea's unions called off talks with the government ahead of a meeting scheduled for Saturday, saying they would not hold further discussions until President Lansana Conte lifted martial law.

"There are still killings and lootings in the neighbourhoods, there is still martial law and we cannot negotiate under these circumstances," union leader Boubacar Biro Barry told Reuters.
