MOGADISHU, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Fighting between Islamist insurgents and allied Ethiopian-Somali government troops has killed 469 people in Mogadishu since the start of October, a local rights group that tracks the violence said on Saturday.

"The death toll is 155 civilians in October and 314 so far already in November," Sudani Ali Ahmed, head of the Elman Peace and Human Rights Organisation told Reuters, adding that 840 residents of Somalia's capital had been wounded since October.
