KISUMU, Kenya, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Police in the opposition stronghold of Kisumu in western Kenya killed three people protesting against President Mwai Kibaki's disputed election on Thursday, a witness said.

"Two men and a woman have been killed in Kisumu. The woman was shot in her house near the airport, and the two men were shot in Otonglo," Erich Ochieng, 18, said. He said he saw the woman's body and helped carry the bodies in Otonglo, a market.

Relatives of a 10-year-old boy shot on Wednesday in Kisumu said on Thursday he had died in the hospital.

"He was brought yesterday about 2:30 p.m. and he died here," said a male relative who declined to give his name. Three other people were killed on Wednesday in Kisumu, residents said. (Reporting by Guled Mohamed, Writing by Bryson Hull; editing by Andrew Dobbie)
