PARIS, Nov 18 (Reuters) - The French Defence Ministry said on Saturday it would send a specialist team to Nepal to help search for four French climbers missing in the Himalayas.

An aerial search failed to find the four -- two mountain guides and two climbers hoping to become guides -- who went to climb the 5,896-metre (19,344-foot) Paldor peak north of the capital, Kathmandu, last month and were due to return on Nov. 5.

The ministry said it was unable to specify when the team, from the high mountain military school in Chamonix in the French Alps, would leave France or how many people would be sent.
