TIKRIT - Iraqi and U.S. forces backed by U.S. air strikes killed eight suspected insurgents last Thursday after they came under fire from a house during a patrol east of Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Monday. BAGHDAD - Gunmen killed a woman and wounded two when they attacked a group of female staff at the Ministry of Education in Amil district in southwestern Baghdad, police said.
