(Adds fire under control) VENICE, Italy, April 18 (Reuters) - A fire destroyed part of the De Longhi <DLG.MI> home appliance maker's factory near Treviso in northeast Italy on Wednesday, fire services said, but no casualties were reported. "The fire is under control now," said fireman Maurizio Mason, adding that about 80 percent of the plant was destroyed. "Only the offices were spared." The cause of the fire, which started around 1100 GMT, is not known, Mason added. Repeated phone calls to the company's press office were unanswered. Smoke from the fire contained traces of acid, but not in large enough quantities to present a risk to the public, environmental experts said. De Longhi is known for its sleek toasters, juicers and kettles which adapt a 1940s and 1950s line to modern styles. Shares in De Longhi fell 5.35 percent on the Milan bourse on worries over the fire.
