ALGIERS, April 19 (Reuters) - An Algerian woman has given birth to seven babies in the capital Algiers, but one of them, a boy, died almost immediately, a Health Ministry official said on Thursday.

The mother gave birth to the boy and six girls at the Kouba public hospital on Wednesday, the official said, adding the six girls survived.

According to the latest Guinness World Records, there have been three known cases of seven children surviving birth; two in the United States and one in Saudi Arabia.
