NABLUS, West Bank, March 21 (Reuters) - Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man on Wednesday in a gunbattle in the West Bank that broke out during a search for wanted militants, Palestinian security sources and medics said. Hospital personnel said the soldiers shot the 22-year-old man while exchanging fire with gunmen from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction in the Askar refugee camp near the city of Nablus. The security sources said the man was not one of the gunmen. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army. Israeli forces had launched a raid in the area before dawn and arrested six wanted militants, the security sources said. Israel frequently launches raids in the area to arrest Palestinians suspected of involvement in attacks against the Jewish state.
