NABLUS, West Bank, April 22 (Reuters) - Israeli troops shot and killed two Palestinian militants during an arrest raid in the occupied West Bank town of Nablus on Sunday, local residents said. The two men, members of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades which is an offshoot of President Mahmmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, were shot during a gun battle after Israeli troops surrounded the house they were in, local residents said. An Israeli army spokeswoman said she had no details of the incident and was checking the report. The killing of the two came a day after the bloodiest day of fighting for months between Israeli troops and Palestinian militants in which six Palestinians were killed in a number of incidents in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Local residents named the men as Amin Lubade, a leading militant wanted by Israel, and Fadel Nur. The said the seige of the house had lasted for several hours and had included a rocket attack on the property.
