FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, May 25

May 25 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1930 GMT on Sunday:

* BAGHDAD - The bodies of four men were found in Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A car bomb blew up near the convoy of the Babil provincial governor in Yarmouk district in western Baghdad, wounding 11 people, including seven guards, police said.

MOSUL - Two people were wounded when gunmen attacked an Iraqi army checkpoint with rocket-propelled grenades in eastern Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

KIRKUK - A roadside bomb wounded five policemen and two civilians when it exploded near a police patrol in southern Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

HILLA - Police found the body of a man with gunshot wounds in Hilla, 100 (62 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded five people including two policemen when it struck a police patrol near the Turkish embassy in Waziriya district, northern Baghdad, police said. Another police source said one person was killed.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces detained 21 al Qaeda militants, including three men wanted for involvement in a Baghdad bombing cell, during operations on Saturday and Sunday, the U.S. military said.

GARMA - The U.S.-backed neighbourhood patrol leader of Garma, Mishhim Abbas, survived a roadside bomb blast targeting his convoy in Garma, police said. There were no casualties. Garma is near Falluja, 50 km (32 miles) west of Baghdad. (Compiled by Aws Qusay, editing by Ross Colvin)
