NAIROBI, Oct 25 (Reuters) - A Tanzanian deputy minister was among three people killed when the minister's vehicle was involved in a collision with a truck, officials said.

The government named the deputy minister as Salome Mbatia, who had responsibility for community development, gender and children.

The accident occurred on Wednesday in the Kibena area of the Iringa region, about 550 km (340 miles) southwest of the commercial capital Dar es Salaam, the government said in a statement faxed to Reuters in Nairobi.
