PARIS, July 26 (Reuters) - French nuclear reactor maker and utility group Areva <CEPFi.PA> said on Thursday that its Niger production was unaffected in the wake of a Niger decision to declare the head of Areva's Niger operations persona non grata.

"Production is not affected," said an Areva spokesman in Paris, who also confirmed an earlier report that its Niger head Dominique Pin had been declared persona non grata.

"We confirm and condemn the decision to expel Dominique Pin," he added.

The spokesman said Areva rejected accusations by the Niger government that it may have helped finance a revolt by nomadic Tuareg rebels.

"The accusations made against us are completely unfounded," said the spokesman for Areva.

"We want stability to return to Niger," he added.

The French government has a majority stake in Areva.
