DUBAI, Aug 27 (Reuters) - A fire broke out at Jebel Ali port in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, triggering explosions at a depot storing chemicals, a Dubai civil defence official said.

"There were explosions, sending debris up to 300 metres in the air," said Rashid al-Matrooshi, head of administration at the Dubai Civil Defence Department. He said there were no casualties.

Jebel Ali port is located in Dubai, a member of the UAE federation, which is the world's sixth-largest oil exporter.
