April 28 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1830 GMT on Saturday:

* BAGHDAD - Seventeen bodies were found across Baghdad in the past 24 hours, police said.

* KERBALA - A suicide car bomber killed 60 people and wounded 170 near one of Iraq's most revered Shi'ite shrines in the holy city of Kerbala, 100 km (70 miles) southwest of Baghdad, medical officials said.

BAQUBA - A total of 27 bodies were found around Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. Fifteen decomposing bodies were found in a field. All were handcuffed and had gunshot wounds. Another 12 bodies with gunshot wounds and showing signs of torture were found in different areas.

BAIJI - Gunmen abducted an oil facility security official and his driver in Baiji, 180 km (112 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

HIT - A suicide truck bomber killed 10 people and wounded 20 others on Friday in Hit, about 140 km (85 miles) west of Baghdad, police said.

KHALIS - A suicide car bomber targeting a military checkpoint killed one soldier and wounded three others in Khalis, a town 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb hit an Iraqi army patrol, wounding two soldiers in al-Qahira district in northern Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - Gunmen killed a former senior intelligence officer in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Three mortar rounds landed in al-Resala district in southwestern Baghdad killing three civilians and wounding 10 others, including two children, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb killed one civilian and wounded three others in Kadhimiya district in northwestern Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces captured 17 suspected militants during a series of overnight raids targeting al Qaeda militants across Iraq, the U.S. military said.

FALLUJA - A U.S. aircraft destroyed a truck bomb loaded with explosives east of Garma, near Falluja, on Friday, the U.S. military said.

MAHMUDIYA - U.S. and Iraqi soldiers found Iranian-made rockets and mortar rounds in a raid on an apartment complex in Mahmudiya south of Baghdad on April 22 that netted three weapons' caches and eight suspects, the U.S. military said.

DHULUIYA - Gunmen killed one police officer and wounded two in an attack on a police patrol in Dhuluiya, a town 70 km (45 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb targeting a group of day labourers killed one and wounded eight in the Zaafaraniya district in southern Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen killed five civilians and wounded one when they opened fire on their vehicle in Bayaa district in southwestern Baghdad.

MAHMUDIYA - A handcuffed and blindfolded corpse was found dumped on the outskirts of Mahmudiya on Friday, police said.

NAHRAWAN - A roadside bomb killed one person and wounded another in Nahrawan, 30 km (20 miles) south of Baghdad, on Friday, police said.

BAGHDAD - Seven bodies were found in Baghdad in the past 24 hours, the Interior Ministry said.

MOSUL - Sixteen bodies were found in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, in the past 24 hours, police said.

MAHAWEEL - A body with bullet wounds to the head was found in Mahaweel, 75 km (50 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
