Three killed in Bulgaria mine accident

SOFIA, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Three miners were killed in an accident at a Bulgarian lead and zinc mine on Thursday, health ministry officials said.

Two other miners were taken to hospital after what was believed to have been a landslide and a gas blast in the privately held mine of Dzhurkovo, some 200 km (124 miles) south-east of Sofia.

Officials could not say how many miners were inside the mine when the accident occurred.

Last month, two workers were killed in a landslide in a coal mine. In March, an explosion at the same coal mine killed two people and injured nine. (Reporting by Anna Mudeva; editing by Myra MacDonald)
