DAR ES SALAAM, March 29 (Reuters) - African leaders agreed on Thursday that South Africa's President Thabo Mbeki will facilitate political dialogue in crisis-hit Zimbabwe and called for western sanctions on the country to be lifted.

A statement at the end of a two-day summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) also appealed to Britain to "honour its commitments" to fund Zimbabwe land reforms -- long a demand of President Robert Mugabe's government.
