BRUSSELS, May 30 (Reuters) - A Chinook military helicopter has crashed in southern Afghanistan, a NATO official said on Wednesday, but he had no word on casualties.

"I can confirm that," he said when asked about reports of a crash. "There are few details. It's a Chinook and it was in the south." The official at NATO headquarters in Brussels could not confirm whether the aircraft belonged to NATO or the U.S.-led coalition operating in Afghanistan.
