Sept 6 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1430 GMT on Saturday. * denotes new or updated item * BAGHDAD - Eight people were wounded in a suicide car bomb attack targeting the convoy of Shi'ite politician Ahmed Chalabi late on Friday, Major-General Qassim Moussawi, spokesman for the Iraqi military in Baghdad, told Reuters, adding that Chalabi was not in the convoy. Chalabi's office said two people were killed six wounded, and that Chalabi was in the convoy. The U.S. military said no one was killed in the attack, which took place in western Baghdad, and nine people were wounded. BAGHDAD - A car bomb killed Abdul-Amer Gattie, the head of a U.S.-backed neighbourhood patrol group, in the Baghdad district of Saidiya, police said. TAL AFAR - At least six people were killed and 52 others wounded by a car bomb blast in central Tal Afar, 420 km (260 miles) northwest of Baghdad, police said. ISKANDARIYA - Gunmen killed a man in a drive-by shooting on Friday in central Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said. NEAR MUSSAYAB - Police on Friday found the body of man apparently strangled, 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
