DUBLIN, July 6 (Reuters) - These are some of the leading stories in Ireland's newspapers on Monday. Reuters has not verified these stories and cannot vouch for their accuracy:

THE IRISH TIMES

- The Sudanese government says it is doing everything in its power to secure the release of a Dublin aid worker and her Ugandan colleague, both of whom worked for Irish aid agency Goal, after they were kidnapped in Darfur last week. - Electricians are expected to place pickets at around 240 locations around the country today as part of a strike over pay increases of around 11 percent which they say are due for some years.

- The annual Drumcree church parade passed off peacefully yesterday despite Orangemen being banned again from returning to their lodge in Portadown along the nationalist Garvaghy Road.

IRISH INDEPENDENT

- Deep fear of an angry reaction from campaigners against savage new spending cuts is behind the unwillingness of some government ministers to publish the Bord Snip report.

- Education Minister Batt O'Keeffe was criticised last night for "dithering" over the re-introduction of college fees after it emerged no decision will be made on the issue until later this year.

- Two more people have contracted swine flu in Ireland rather than picking the virus up abroad, sparking fears over the spread of the virus.

IRISH EXAMINER

- People who face court or jail for non-payment of debt often suffer traumatic stress, are frightened their children will be taken into care and are ashamed to have their financial difficulties discussed in a public forum, a major new report has found.

- A prisoner's face was slashed after he was taken hostage by fellow inmates in the latest escalation of the overcrowding crisis at Mountjoy jail.
