* Projects in 16 districts for three years * 6.2 million people may need food aid this year ADDIS ABABA, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Spain will give Ethiopia $7 million in grants to fund child nutrition and food security projects for three years across the huge Horn of Africa country, the state-run Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) said on Saturday. ENA said the U.N. children's agency UNICEF and U.N. World Food Programme would run the projects in 16 districts in coordination with Ethiopia's Health Ministry. The United Nations, which has given Addis Ababa $6 million from a global emergency fund to this year, said last week that 6.2 million Ethiopians may need emergency food aid in 2009 due to poor rains in some parts of the impoverished country. The number of Ethiopians needing emergency food supplies last year was 4.9 million. The U.N. children's agency UNICEF says it has treated 62,000 severely malnourished Ethiopian children this year and expects the number in danger to rise. France donated 500,000 euros this week to treat 10,000 severely malnourished children in Ethiopia. (Reporting by Tsegaye Tadesse and Barry Malone; Editing by Daniel Wallis)
