Aug 8 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1400 GMT on Saturday.

* Denotes new or updated items.

* MOSUL - Gunmen opened fire on a police checkpoint killing a policeman in western Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded two civilians in Amil district in southwestern Baghdad, police said.

KIRKUK - Gunmen in a speedy car wounded an off duty policeman in northern Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad on Friday, police said.

HAWIJA - An attacker threw a grenade at a U.S. patrol. Three civilians were wounded in the attack in Hawija, 210 km (130 miles) north of Baghdad on Friday, police said.
