ATHENS, Dec 9 (Reuters) - Greece's Socialist opposition leader George Papandreou on Tuesday demanded the conservative government step down and call elections to end three days of rioting after police shot dead a teenager.

"We claim power," Papandreou told his parliamentary group to applause. "The only thing this government can offer is to resign and turn to the people for its verdict." (Reporting by Daniel Flynn; Editing by Louise Ireland)
