FACTBOX-Military deaths in Afghanistan

July 11 (Reuters) - Eight British soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan, officials said, Britain's worst death toll in a 24-hour period.

Five troops on foot patrol were killed by two blasts, the highest toll in a single attack.

Fifteen soldiers, including four officers, have been killed in the past 10 days with Britain and the United States fighting major new offensives against the Taliban in southern Helmand.

A total of 184 British soldiers have died since the war began in 2001, more than the 179 killed in Iraq since 2003.

Here are figures for foreign military deaths as a result of violence or accidents in Afghanistan since 2001:
