OSLO, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Finland's former president, Martti Ahtisaari, received the Nobel Peace Prize on Wednesday for more than three decades of peace brokering around the world from Namibia to Kosovo. The award of the 10 million Swedish crowns ($1.23 million) prize to the veteran diplomat, who was president in 1994 to 2000, was announced in October. Ahtisaari received a Nobel prize diploma and medal to applause from about 1,000 guests at a ceremony at Oslo's city hall attended by Norway's King Harald and Queen Sonja. The award citation said his efforts "have contributed to a more peaceful world and to 'fraternity between nations' in Alfred Nobel's spirit." (Reporting by John Acher; Editing by Richard Balmforth)
