JERUSALEM, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet U.S. President Barack Obama's Middle East peace envoy George Mitchell on Sunday, an Israeli official said on Saturday. Netanyahu held talks on Friday with Mitchell, who is on his ninth shuttle visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories. The envoy also met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The Israeli prime minister's office described Friday's meeting as "constructive" while Mitchell spoke later of the continued difficulties facing all sides in laying the groundwork for negotiations on founding a Palestinian state. An Israeli official said Mitchell would meet Netanyahu before leaving the region on Sunday. (Writing by Dan Williams; Editing by Jon Hemming)
